    New member and new owner

    Hello all

I have been perusing this forum for the last week or so and thought I had better introduce myself.

About me: 28 years old, Australian male.
I?ve had my motorcycle license for around 6 years. After getting my license I bought a 2007 model Honda VTR250 which I kept for a couple of years but didn?t ride all that often.

fast forward to now and I have just acquired a 1980 GS400.

    about the bike :
I picked this up on gumtree (like craigslist I guess) for $800 aus dollars. The bike runs, although I haven?t been for a ride or ran it too much while I am waiting for new oil filter to arrive so I can give it a service.

I have toyed with the idea of restoring the bike but am leaning away from this as I think it is beyond my skills, plus I am a little put off by parts availability. so instead I am aiming to tinker away at it slowly myself, get a mechanic to give it a roadworthy test and put it back on the road. Once on the road I think I will slowly modify it into a scrambler type thing.

I have tried to attach a photo but unsure if it will work.

anyway I just wanted to introduce myself here and also thank this community as it is quickly proving to be an invaluable resource.

    cheers
