Revived 1980 1000GLT

Bought this in 09 running but not great. Kind of half heartedly fooled with it for a few years, then let it sit. Finally went through it starting last winter, and finally got it back on the road last week. Still not perfect cosmetically due in part to my skill level at painting and seat recovering, but now runs like a scalded dog. Things done include Sonic springs, carb overhaul using O rings and technique from this site, airbox sealing, new boots on both ends of the carbs, new o rings on the boots, new Avon Roadmasters, All mc and calipers rebuilt and ss brake lines added, fork seals, final drive maintenance and other odds and ends.
I appreciate all the contributions you guys have made to this site that helped make the whole process pretty painless and surprisingly economical considering the age of this bike.
I do have one minor carb issue, but I'll save that for the carb section.

Did not see mention of valve adjustment, hopefully you did that, too.

Yes I did. That's actually one of the things I did when I first got it in 09, and I did it again with all the winter work. Also carb sync and spark plug boots. I did the stator and a better regulator in 09.

Nice looking bike. It's good to have your work pay off in a good running bike. That's a rather large looking top pack on the back, what brand is that? Looks like you have the bike set up pretty well for some serious touring.

Thanks. The trunk is Mutazu. The bags are smaller than they look, and one is holding spare parts, cables and tools that I hope I don't need. I actually use it mostly for store runs and going too fast on back roads. For longer rides, I take the Valkyrie.
