    new guy 86 GS1150

Thanks in advance for the help!

My 1150 has not run since 2005 and I am determined to get back on the road this year.

My first GS was a 1980 GS550E i bought brand new. What a fun bike that was.
Traded it in on a new 1981 Ducati 900ss. That was a confidence inspiring machine.
Bought a Yamaha 360 on/off road bike in a bunch of boxes and got it back together.

Few dirt bikes later bought a Kawasaki triple 2 stroke 750 for $30, yup $30. New gas, tied a rope around my
friends bumper and dragged it around the parking lot until it started. A weekend of cleaning, little spray paint,
fluids and tires and I was on the road. Pretty fun. Not much happened until it was on the pipe and then hold on.

Got a great deal on an almost new 1989 Katana 750. Enjoyed that until it was stolen. Still *@%^$*@%^$*@%^$*@%^$ed!
Found my 1150 and brought it home around 1991?. PO had painted it gray.
V&H pipe, individual air filters, rejetted carbs, it ran well, sounded good.

Few more bikes here and there.
Insert life got in the way story here.

Anyway, looks like a great site. I'll get a project page going and add some pictures as I start ordering parts.

        Thanks for the welcome.
        I can't remember ever taking a picture of that 2 stroke 750.
I found a picture of my 900ss about 15 years ago, haven't seen it since.
If I come across them, I'll post them.
        Both bikes long gone.

          False! Inconceivable! Unacceptable!

That Ducati is a million times more interesting than the Kawasaki. Rolling work of art.

I can't deny that the duck is a work of art, but the H2 holds a very memorable place in history. It was just a very short time, what with the H1 and 750/4 before it, and the Z1 after it.

That's really awesome of you, but I don't have a fairing.

                    Dork thanks for the welcome.

Mr Pilot, your timing is quite on point...
I was cleaning up the garage yesterday and came upon my old Team Dinosaur mid panel which sent me into a nostalgic mindset.
I spent a good chunk of today going thru the fairing brackets, etc, and am going to try to re mount the brackets and panels. The standard height (mine is +2") smoked screen would look way cool.

                      I'll PM you my adress.

                      Thanks.
