Very exited to have found this forum - from my initial reading, looks like there's no GS questions that that can't be answered in here - Brilliant!!
Has had a number of GS's and GSF's over the years, but my latest GS love is an 81' GS1000G - winter project renovation list is long, so looking forward to some hours in the garage :-)

    Hi kvest and Welcome
    Happy miles and safe arrivals
Here is our library and some important advice threads

1A) (NEW) Trying to diagnose running problems on a bike with an unknown maintenance history. Common maintenance items like clean carbs, properly adjusted valves, no air leaks in the intake system (airbox, carb boots), a clean gas tank (no rust), and a properly functioning petcock are 100% mandatory for the bike to run properly.

Bike doesn't look like it needs a lot of renovations.

I LIKE ORIG. !!! "but" these subtle little changes really look great. That 40 yr. old eng. looks new. Maybe I'm not as stuck on orig. as I thought I was. Oh yeah, Welcome & congrats on a great looking bike

Thank - the main items on the list are: front calipers rebuild, engine leaking oil, carb rebuild & sync (running very rough on low revs), forks not feeling right... and will probably "invent" a few more - just to have an excuse to spend time in my garage ;-)

Yep! I prefer ORIG myself as well... this was an attempt to do something slightly different.
