April BOTM 81 GS1100G? is that right?

Why do I seem to question so much stuff. Glad to see this bike back up & going, but Is'nt that an "83" model? 1000G's were "80" & "81", thinking the 1100G was "82" & up. Plus the 1000G tanks didn't have the indentions for your knees, that started with the 1100G & the wheels seem to be "83" ( not that it matters)...Thanks for the resurrection Nathan.

83s would have a black engine.

I would have thought 82 but would need an explanation for the chrome fender (swapped? european?)

(ALthough I do see that the model chart does list 81 for the 1100G.)

Yes, Nathan, good job of bringing it back from too long of neglect.

    A Note From The Owner...

The bike was owned and last used around 2002 and was sold to a friend who used it for a while and then parked it up in a damp garage for 15+years. It was in a shocking state so he just gave it to me free to do up. Here she is! Tank and seat base were rotten, in fact everything was rusty and seized. Now back from the dead and running great. And he wants it back!!! LOL

Looked at several parts catalogues and saw no "81" gs1100 " g" anywhere. Still happy for him & the bike. Nice job.

        Nathan,
Congratulations on the BOM! I really like how you've put your bike back together - I think it looks great! It is always nice to see a powerful old bike back on the road and being enjoyed. Where is the picture? Awesome looking background off in the distance

Unless Nathan chimes in, we may never know. Is he a member active forum member. Again, username on the BOTM page would be nice.
