    GS restoration

    nearly completed this GS from 1980, bought as basket case, lots of work done, not quite an original one as you can see tastefully modified (i think)
    and my own retro style graphics!

    yes seat still needs work interferes with tail piece at present, starter clutch also needs work, was running last week but all of a sudden the starter motor spinning, but not engine!!

                who did your restoration. I have a 1978 GS1000 that I am thinking about doing a FULL restoration because I LOVE THESE BIKES. any suggestions, thanks.

                    Change the handlebars!!! A pair of Superbike bars would be period correct & a VERY comfortable bar for your bike. They are a little lower & a little wider & give you great leverage for counter steering. I'll bet you a dollar if you try a set, you will sell the stock bars!!! Ray.
