    October BOTM

Guys, I can't believe today is the 21st day of the month and nobody has mentioned this months beautiful Kat.

Can't say I would blame to owner for NEVER wanting to sell this one as she is a real beauty.
Would be nice to see more photos of it with different angles etc, etc.

I sent an email to the owner to see if he was a member here and where the bike lives and also asked for more photos of the bike. Hoping he responds to my email.

Very nice looking by any standards... That being said the "82" GS1000SZ model would probably attract a little more attention as it was the first yr. & a one yr. only model.

          Thanks for the compliments!

I’m a member of the GSResources since 2004 but was a member of an older forum I think. Since 2018 I am a member again, but I’m more of a reader than writer..
I bought the katana in 2004. The previous owner imported the bike from Japan in 1997 to the Netherlands (my country of residence) . It’s an ’84 GS1100SE and original it is a red one. But the previous owner decided to paint the bike in the SD colors.

Someday it will be red again…

I’m still very happy with the bike although I don’t ride this bike often. My daily ride is a Yamaha Tracer 900.

I have a GS1000E too and at the moment I’m rebuilding this one to a GS1000 Yoshimura. (the red one)

Were the side covers customized to allow for the pods? Does the left one still have the choke control?
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

Hi Rob, the side covers are not customized. The pods are a direct fit. The left one has the choke control, but is not functional. I have a extra choke knob near to the gauges.

                    The Kat looks great!
Your Yoshimura project seems like it will be something special. Nice to see the frame bracing and not just adding parts.
