    Hello again...It's Speed...

I've missed a lot of stuff on here!!
Well, I've gotta lotta drama, or BS...however you wanna put it..and I am happy...but p!ssed as well....
Anywho......Had a lot of bike stuff...Brought it to the "New Guy"...
He picked it up the Thursday before July 4th. I stopped by the following Friday to drop off one of the "chrome" air cleaner covers...at that point he told me he had the bike running, but it was flat-spotting on the rev. I knew what it was. When I bench synched the carbs, I didnt know how to adjust #3 (please tell me how), but did all the others...I guess I got confused, but when he told me pipe 3# wasnt running as hot as the others, I knew. He wont listen to me. Anyway, he said to call on the following Tuesday. I did. He answered the phone in a very rushed way, and said he'd call back. I figured he forgot about me, so 2 hours later, I called him back. He YELLED at me..."What the H#LL are you bothering me for?? I told you I'd call you Back!!" and he hung up the phone. I was hurt, and P!SSSSSSSSSSED. Sooooo....This was Tuesday, 11am...waited until Wednesday..7pm...I then left him a message (NOT nasty) saying I didnt care for his attitude, and I am going to pick up my bike. Go to get my bike...he's missing a chrome air cleaner cover, and gave me the WRONG battery. I pointed out both, but he shooed me out, and walked away. WTF??? I'm MAD, because I'm sure he'd never do this to a guy.
My bill:150.00 Said he had to clean out the pilot jets (?) I Think...and said there was water in the advance something...cant read his writing...
ANYWAY.......I'm buying a 5 gallon gas container, and this b!tch is going up in FLAMES!!! (wishful thinking)
    Forgive me...just a little PO'ed...
Anyway...I got a new pc!! YAY!!! Works great!! Love it!! Thank God I have it...or I'd.....

THat's It, Vent Away Here, THEN Get the Bike, Assess it's Current State of Tune, and Then Post Your Questions in the Tech Forum. Most Shop Mechanics are Useless on a Bike Over 5 Years Old. Hang in There!:-D

I would Suggest You take Time to Print off "The Stator Papers" from the Garage section and Do a Thorough Evaluation of the Charging System. It is the Main Weakness on these Bikes But is Fixable. Good Luck getting it Sorted Out.

The purpose of bench synching is to get the carb adjustment (slides) close enough to enable to bike to be started. Actually synching the carbs must be done by vacuum levels with the engine running. Carb #3 is the "control" carb.
There is no adjustment for carb #3. Carbs 1,2, and 4 must be adjusted to match #3. As you adjust 1,2, and 4, the apparent vacuum level showing in carb #3 will change. Adjusting any one carb will normally change the vacuum level readings on the other three carbs. Always adjust the carb that has the greatest vacuum level difference from the vacuum level reading for carb #3,
By small increments, bring 1,2 and 4 closer and closer to the vacuum level of carb #3.

          Earl
