Well, I am thinking about printing this out, and the next time someone remarks on how nice my bike is, and how they would like to own a classic, I am going to show them this:

Because they had better get used to it.
Sure, they are fun to ride, and great looking, and all sorts of other things. They also require a lot of attention, at least until you have gone 'round the world' and replaced/rebuilt everything. Then they are bulletproof (I hope).
Now don't get me wrong, I love problem solving and working on my bike. The sense of accomplishment and true ownership you get from tearing down and rebuilding (and repeating) your bike is great.
And the nice thing is, I can get it to this stage of undress in well under five minutes (which is much better than I have been able to accomplish with any degree of regularity with the opposite sex, even with their most accommodating members).
