What a great looking bike....from the sounds of things, and after seeing it...I think you got one heck of a deal! I have a couple old CB's so I'm a Honda lover as well, so you know what my suggestion is..KEEP IT!! Parts are plentiful, and it will be a joy to ride. Enjoy

IT RUNS!!! just went and got four new plugs and a battery put them in and boom! fired right up, idles fine, took it up the street and back twice, runs pretty darn good! Smokes some. Think it may just be valve seals and guides, maybe it'll clear out with time but I doubt it. Not nearly as torquey as the 1100e. Gotta wind it up to get it to make power. Still prolly needs some tuning though. I think she's a keeper!! Here's a vid of her running.

Nice.....Even the fairing doesn't look too bad. Sharp looking bike and a good way to start a early 80's Superbike collection

Get it working correctly and run it a good while, run it long, run it hard. If it's been sitting too long it can't help but smoke. Valve stem seals, rings, all that stuff needs to run.

I always wanted to ask, do the Honda CB's come with traditional Mikuni CV type carbs? Those carbs look soo odd with that giant air tower on top of the carb.... are they just a Mukuni/Honda design ?

Those are Keihin CV type carbs. Keihin is part of Honda's keiretsu (family/partnership companies) going way back. As far as I know, Keihin has been making CV carbs since the 1960 which predates Minuni's involvement with the breed.

should only cost $100 or so to have a machine shop fix those broken studs.
