When the prototype Katana first hit the bike shows (in 1980), it dropped everyone's jaw! This was a Japanese bike?!
The design was ground breaking, and the beginning of the end for UJM designs. Love it or hate it - it stirred everyones emotions. In the family tree of Japanese production / showroom floor available sport bike design, the Kat was first.
