Hey, it beats Kansas. Oh boy!

Yeah, even North Dakota beats Kansas.
At least you can wheelie over the occasional alligator for entertainment.
Watch out for big turtles, they are pretty solid.
So are those big green hard shell bugs that only hit below the kneecaps.

Try County Rd 515. Sometimes it is marked State Road but it is still 515 on maps.
Google it around South Rockledge in Brevard County.
Start at the southern end and go to the northern end,north of Cocoa.
About 17 miles of beautiful sweeping twisties,right along the lovely Indian River. Up north, you can look across the river and see Kennedy Space Center.

It was a great ride when I lived there 16 years ago, hope it still is.

Yeah I have some friends that live on that road. Hard part is there are lots of people that walk on that road and lots of bicycles. If it was all cleared out it would be a lot nicer. Still a nice drive just have to go real slow...

Want to trade for a week?
I'll take your riding on flat, smooth surface roads at 70 degrees with a few curves for 100 miles. You can have my hillly, twisty, 38 degree, 40 mile commute with 1" cracks and frost heaves in the roads.
You can even borrow my heated vest....of course come summer, I'll take my cooler temps back.
Here's a shot or 2 of my morning commute, showing the smoother roads, but the downhill contours don't really come out in the pics.
I'm usually not one to break up the flow of my ride for pics. Maybe I should get a helmet cam instead of stopping and digging out my cell phone? Even reached speeds of 169 (impressive,ha?...ok, kph...) on the last 5 mile highway stretch. Sorry, didn't mean to hog your thread, but warm temps and flat roads sound like a nice change of pace.....

Don't get too excited, it's just a 1980 Honda CBX.

I talked to the guy that rode in on it. Evidently there was a racer in Canada that raced one just like it, back in the day, and this was set up sort of as a tribute to him. I got the impression that it's sort of like our Wes Cooley bikes.

When I was down in SE Florida (where there are no curves), I met an attorney who was an ex bike racer and owned 4 Bimotas.

He told me local guys went out in the middle of the night and rode around off ramp cloverleafs, so they at least knew what it was like to turn right. He was serious

My son showed me the chicken strips on "Freebie" before he got sold. The left side was worn about to the edge, but the right side still had the molding tips about 3/4" from the edge. Seems there are a lot of roundabouts in his area, and he knows just how fast he can take them before things get nasty.

Sidebar: after Freebie was gone, my son was riding his friend's Boulevard S50. He does not really like it because it won't corner.
How well does it NOT corner?
Let's just say that he was laying down a constant stream of sparks from the floorboard, going around the roundabout,
and I was gaining on him with my Wing, not dragging a thing.

Hey Steve, there is a Yamaha dealer here in Indy that has 3 of those on the sales floor. Only one with the luggage package that you are showing. The dealer gave me a sample DVD that shows everything it can do and the bells and whistles. I've become a fan of them however I'm still waiting on some history to see how they perform after they leave the show room. I've also noticed that every now and then I'll see one on E Bay and only getting around 8-9k for them, but that is the "bare" bike.

I test rode one last fall and it was different.
It was kind of fun but you would need some serious space in your garage for one.I would have to still have another bike to ride,not sure about it being my primary.

I was talking to a guy at work that has one. He said that he found out yesterday that there is an electronic limiter at 7,000 rpm in top gear.

Considering that it will hit the 9,500 rpm redline in all the other gears, it's probably a good thing.

Hmmm, 110 in 5th on the B12 would be 5500 rpm. Power band starts at around 6500. LOL
