    Buffalo Wing Fest Ride

yesterday was hot, sunny and beautiful so i grabbed my o'lady and we rode into the city for the annual chicken wing festival.

i sampled wings from several restaurants, many from other states. my goal was to find the hottest wings at the show which were surprisingly from a place from seattle, washington. none of the wings were as good or hot as the ones from a local bar called smokey's though.

after that we went to niagara falls.

at the casino there i won enough to pay for gas and all the wings we ate. then we headed north up the niagara river to lake ontario. followed the lake shore for about 50 miles.

then, when it got dark, we headed toward home with a couple stops for a calzone and a beer. about 180 trouble free, awesome miles on the 850.

Sounds like a good day and ride.
Did you take Rte 18 Lake Rd, across the bottom of the lake? How was it? Good pavement? Can you see the lake?
When ever we went to the salvage yard in Lockport or a visit in Rochester we would take Rte. 31. Effective but boring.

yep we took rt. 18 all the way to rt. 63 where we turned south. we could see the lake alot at the start but then it got dark and the road wandered away from the shore a bit. it's a good road with not many stops or speed zones.

not that it matters but we caught up to, and passed, several harleys on that road.
