, and he also got me for not having insurance on my bike. I do have insurance on my other bike, but not yet on this one. I figured I would wait till the bike is in running condition before I register and insure it. He gave me a warning on the lack of registration, but got me for no insurance. I looked up the penalty for no insurance and it is a minimum of $400.00
SO I called my insurance company (progressive) and asked them if I was actually covered through my existing insurance and they made it sound like I was, and I officially added my new bike to the policy. I am hoping that I can show the judge my insurance info and get out of paying $400.00.
Has anyone else had a similar experience either with a motorcycle or car? I'm curious to see if there's a chance out of this one. I have to call the courthouse in 5 days to see if they want me to go to court.
I have no doubt they are similarly strict on things like registration/licensing/insurance.
