) and had the bike shipped to Philly where he met up with it. He told me that his son had been paralysed in an accident a couple of years ago and that his wife had had health problems too. He is 59 and needed to escape for awhile. He had his license plate stolen in Ohio (they just ripped it off the fender, a-holes!) and had his brother send him another from Holland. He went to Alaska and rode through the floods in Calgary. He started out on our Island in Port Hardy, which is over 600kms from Victoria. He blew his motor on the way and had his brother send him another motor to Victoria.
He is staying mostly in campgrounds but the odd motel for a treat. He is on his way to the Mexican border but not going in Mexico, as his wife says it's too dangerous (like riding a moped with a top speed of 30mph across North America isn't). Just check out the helmet on top of his luggage that he is wearing.
Oh yeah, check out the extra gas tank he added. What a privalage it was to meet this man and share in his story.
It is true..."You meet the nicest people on a Honda".
