Took my red 1000G out for the first time since last summer

This bike is stored in my mother's garage in Anaheim. I took the cover off it and it looked great. It has been my practice to drain the carbs or run it with the vacuum line to the petcock plugged until it won't run any more even when choked. It fired right up after a prime. I rode it over to Donut Derilicts yesterday morning. The most interesting bike there was a turbo B-King. Interesting cars included, a supercharged Studebaker Grand Turismo, a Kaiser 4 door sedan, and the usual rods, lakesters, and '55, 56, and '57 GM cars. There was a Pontiac version of a Chevy Nomad. I don't think I had ever seen one before. There was a nice original '51 Ford. Sorry, no photos Forgot my phone.

My GS ran and looked great. the 30 lb I keep in the forks had not even leaked out. Sorry, no photos.

Thanks. Its got about 54 thousand miles. It runs good, but I'm going to take it to Ray for a valve adjust, synch, and look into what may be excessive clutch noise next time I'm there. All things I can do, but my specialty tools and shims are in another state, and I don't have the time when I'm in the area visiting. I'm also planning on switching out the Krauser for Samsonite. The Krauser is OK, and easy to use, but I like the Samsonite better, and the G in Oregon and the G in Maine both have Samsonite. I like the deep top box for running errands.





Those are the other 1000Gs. One in Maine, one in Oregon. I've gotten rid of the old loaner fleet except for one 850G with 10,000 miles. I'm down to these three and a Skunk. One of the black Gs has a 1983 1100G engine, and it is peppier than the others. I like that for under 2 grand you can have a comfortable good looking bike with luggage that is ready to cross continents.
