Since you are waiting anyway. Take the old T and soak it in a container/cup with gas in it for a day. Then install it and see if it doesn't seal. It should swell up from the gas and might seal. I have used this method with good results. Check to see that it holds gas before you reinstall the carbs. DarComment

The journey began by bicycle so no room for a helmet, leather, etc. I'm looking for a size Large helmet(three quarter style is OK),a size 44 jacket(would like to find an old leather with zippers on the sleeves and a snap-up collar plus old riding gloves(xl)and a pair of 12wide boots with thin soles.
I am in my young 60's,a partially retired Japanese powersports repairman with only a small Social Security check every month. I still love adventure but need to play it close to the bone. I began this journey by bicycle for a reason.. I don't have much but can pay a little for some gear.Comment

Put a post with your specific needs in the GS gear section.

I did PLAN on getting this riding gear while I was here in Michigan and was hoping to find some by now,I couldn't carry that stuff on the bicycle, don't have a friend back there who can ship stuff as she is handicapped plus i just moved there a year ago.I am not financially able to afford much but can pay for them. I DIDN'T plan on getting robbed of all my carefully prepared gear back in NV.,that was a huge loss.Last edited by grcamna2; 06-07-2018, 02:24 PM.Comment

I would check out a local Salvation Army or Goodwill store for leather jackets. They always have some here in not bad shape for a fraction of the cost of new. Helmets, not so much, but occasionally they have a few.Comment

I already went 3 thrift stores but they didn't even have any warm jackets, helmet, boots or glovesComment
