Hunting in Lycoming County

When I was a kid, we used to hunt about 10 mi. up a fire road behind English Center near the old Carson Brothers abandoned strip mine. The fire road comes out on Rt. 287 near the ski area at Oregon Hill.

I still have a bottle of Oregon Hill around here somewhere. I should take a trip up there again this winter,

That area is my backyard. 287 is a nice back road, but I prefer 414 from Morris to Waterville. Runs along Pine Creek. Wellsboro and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is kind of a motorcycle mecca around these parts.

I dropped quite a few squirrels in the woods around pine creek, nice country there.

I like 414 also but it is rougher than hell and hard to ride fast, too many country caddies stradiling the line. It is really beautiful and would be great if it were smooth. We stayed at Happy Valley campground, and the were really,really good to us. They are very biker friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a pleasure.
