We are heading up that way a week from Friday. I've been to Yosemite a number of times, but usually went up 395 or crossed inland from Santa Cruz.

Hwy 49 from Oakhurst to the 120 at Moccasin. This section includes a 16 mile stretch called "The Little Dragon" You could probably google that.
I've gone the distance on Hwy 49 twice. It's a favorite route of mine. But the Dragon is extra special. Actually, from S-N the Dragon goes from Bear Valley to Coulterville. Just in case you want to skip the lower end of the 49.
