Cavalcade to NL any tips on staying alive?

I am in the middle of planning a trip to NL with two friends.
One is a painful novice and the other a two seasons veteran of Halifax downtown driving. I have not really driven in a group before and was wondering if any of you peeps had suggestions.

They have Moose Stew available in a restaurant off George Street.
I have not been to my sweet adopted home for ten years.
It will be a hoot to drive back on a road I prayed I would never see again.

I suppose a ride with only three people would be everyman for himself.

The moose are a real problem. When I first moved there in 2003 a guy I worked with had an uncle who was killed in a collision with one.
Swamp Donkeys is what they call them there bye.

I remember seeing my uncles 78 f250 after it hit a moose near Gambo it was destroyed lucky my cousin walked away. There were not many moose where I grew up in Ontario and I never realized the sheer enormity of them-- I was 8 so they seemed like monsters. Between that and the humpback coming up within meters of the 17' 9.9hp powered boat while a couple of miles off shore it was an enlightening summer. ..

oh then there was the basking shark.

Well I am, buying an old Concours to do the trip. I am sure there will be a lot of them on the road to clear a path through the moosessssses

Hopefully you'll come back with a better opinion of that road.

Rain gear, really good rain gear, maybe 2 sets and anything electric that generates heat, and I don't mean Suzuki stators, I mean vests, gloves, grips. You get the idea. People mentioned moose, those buggers will kill you. Reason being they're the same colour as the pavement and are basically invisible at night. Unlike deer that look at you and you see the glow of their eyes, moose don't do that.

In your area they hire moose to be nurses?
