Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway -- opinions? Traffic?

Preparing for a Friday a.m. blastoff.

The gem in the title is sort of on the way back home for me; anyone ever ride this? Is it worth the time & the $15 admission fee to Custer State Park?

I'm not sure I have the time budget for heavy traffic, but some firsthand feedback would come in handy here.
and God said, "Let there be air compressors!"

I have been going out there just about every year since 1996 and I highly recommend the drive. It will take you close to 4-5 hours if you stop and look at the various sites at all. Be sure to drive all the roads on the Norbeck Byway if you have the time, and bring a good camera.

We went through there last Friday with the car and the regular summer tourist car traffic was very easy to deal with, Bike Week changes all that!
