    Backroad along NH /ME border

A bit warm, but ok if you stay moving - no tourists!

Oh, likely my most favorite road in all of NH/ME! Definitely in the top 3. Picture is great but does it no justice. Very twisty a bit further north!

Are you thinking that's Rt 113 running up to White Mt forest area? Actually it's West Brownfield about 10 miles SE of Conway, NH.

That's exactly what I thought it was. Just on the other side of Hurricane Mtn. Road. Roads all look pretty similar in that area I guess!

You're quite right - there's a stretch of 113 just before you cross back to Maine from NH with very similar looking field and farmhouse. One of my favorite rides!

            Northeast America

I would love to venture up to this part of the US--it's very beautiful. If and when I come back to Delaware, it would be no problem setting up a road-trip. Sticking to that trek....well, that's quite another story.

Seems like tourists have made a bad name for themselves in that area. When I'm on the road, I like to blend in with my surroundings. Obviously, that's not always the case in smaller towns.

Anyway, that's a quaint picture with a picturesque background. Thanks for sharing.

I've been through there plenty of times in the car, but never managed to make it back on two wheels. One of these days I'll organize something for my brother in Toronto and I to ride back to the Maritimes via New England.

Ed, I'm curious as to what you've heard about tourists in that area; do you mean SoCal?

I meant in NH/ME area. Outsiders coming into that area probably make a bad name for themselves...and ruin it for good guys like me who know how to act outside their home/state. I've lived abroad and take being on your best behavior very seriously.

Anyhow, from the way tom203 typed "no tourist!" it sounded like he's had a fair share of lunacy. I can understand the feeling.

Yeah, I recall the tourist scene down on the coast of ME always being a bit of a nightmare, but I never thought there was much of a problem further west in the state.

                        Hey Bill,

Whatcha-tryna-do? I'm a good, clean, wholesome rider. Whatchoo-talkin' bout Willis?

New Mexico is no comparison to the northeast...and I mean that in a good way (you guys).

So Bill, let me screen these photos before you start posting them....

The "no tourist stuff" wasn't to denigrate tourists, it was meant to convey no traffic in this area. The Maine coast is crowded in summer and parts of NH's White Mountains are similar - fortunately there are lots of escape routes to less popular, but still scenic areas. Both Maine and NH need the tourist dollar, so bring money and we'll give you some great riding!

                            Hey Mr tom203,

No offense taken on the "no tourist" phrase.

I'm all about enjoying the surroundings to include local food and scenery. Thanks for the encouragement to visit the northeast region.

If you guys want to get the full New England experience you should plan a trip for the Green Mtn. rally. You'll meet the best of the northeast GS Resources members and ride some fantastic roads!
