Make sire you partake in the "Tims" experience while you're North of the border Charlie, it just wouldn't be a trip to Canada without it.

I'm not so sure that's a good idea Rob..............

Thanks for reminding Rob of Hornie Tim's. It's on the agenda for today. Somethings Canadian, great or not need to be experienced! Great watching the Olympics on CBC!

Im heading back tomorrow and can't decide which way to avoid Chicago . I hit at 4:00 on a Friday last time. Considering a ferry at Musheagon or Ludington. The later seems better as it seems more rural. I'll be heading toward I 80 west. Want to go to Jackson Wy on the way home & maybe back up to see Martin and to Hood River Or to see my son. Any ideas?

Plan to stay for a day if you make it back into Boise Charlie. We'll do some of the canyons. Good job we never went that way when you left, found out later that day both 21 and 17 were closed because of a wildfire would have been a very long way round to miss that!
It's smoke that make electronic components work.
Every time I've let the smoke out by mistake, they never work again.

that sounds like a plan. I'm in Wisconson this morning after riding a ferry till almost midnight. Went from Ludington Mi to Wisconson . They charge a fee for the bike and on for me. Total of $ 106.00. Four hour ride, a bar and movies. I think it was worth it to miss Chicago. I might go to Sturgis today...........we'll see.

That's not a bad price for a four hour tour...funny they have a bar, seeing as people will be driving at the other end. How long before they dock do they make the last call?

Hi Charlie, I'll be riding thru Yreka again this year (Next Saturday to be exact) and it looks like you'll still be away working your way home. That's 2 years in a row it's been a near miss! Maybe next year....Cheers,

Oddly enough , 10 minutes. First thing I did was have a Rye & 7 and watch a movie to put me to sleep.

I did a short day today ,287 miles. In Stewartville, Mi on I-90. South Dakota tomorrow , maybe...... Pictures when I get home.

We chatted for an hour about jobs and bikes, then I escorted him 40 miles from New Buffalo through Niles and on to Dowagiac Michigan.
He's tracking down his ancestors who settled in Michigan back in 1840.
I was a nice ride, although a straight line on US12, 60 mph. Seems it was some kinda special garage sale day, we had to slow down many times because of cars and people stopped at country houses for the sales.
Slight amount of precept, 100% humidity with a high dew point, so my visor was half fogged all the way to Niles. The weather cleared up after I left him at Dowagiac. then I rode home through all my favorite twisty country roads.
                            Have wonderful journey Charlie!!!

Cool journey. Is that a GK seat on your G or is the helmet just making it look more dished out?

As far as I know it's the stock 1983 seat, which is shared with the GK. My 82 has a different seat.

My '83 has the older style seat but I can't swear it is stock. At any rate, do you find it comfortable? I have 2 complete seats and a 3rd foam and cover combo (GK style) which I plan to put on one of the seat pans to have for a 2-up option.
