    GS850 Wiring

    1980 GS850GT
Removed my petrol tant today and noticed the 2 wires that come from my petrol tank one of them goes to the battery terminal and the other seems go behind my left hand side casing area, the one that goes straight to the battery i was wondering is this right.
hope someone can help with this.

One wire (black with white stripe) should go to a ground. So may have been rerouted to the battery (hopefully the negative terminal!) in a troubleshooting attempt to get it working. This should work. The other wire makes it's way up to the meter.

Here’s the layout…..the tank sending unit has variable resistance …sending its output to the fuel gauge
