1980 gs 1000g

having done cam chain manuel cam chain tensioner,new clutch cable ,
just took the gs for a test run can only get 1st-2nd gear, seems as though the gear lever gets stuck wont move
to get 3rd-4th-5th
any ideas

Is this a new bike to you? Did you do any work on the clutch, shift mechanism? Sounds like the shaft #26 me be misaligned with the shift cam gear #6 .

Yes. You will likely have to pull the clutch basket, but don't have to go any deeper than that.
