I've had my current model since 2008. Before that I had a '82 GS 850G for over 10 years. Started out back in 1978 with a GT 550 I think it was.

              Yep, got a 1991 GSX1100G, a 1999 GSF 1200, a 2005 GSF1200, but thinking my 1983 GS1100E is the only one that counts in this conversation.

Yeah, for this conversation that's true. But they all count! Nice stable you have going on.

Have owned several, through the years, but currently down to just one, an '80 GS850G(K). Yes, it has bags and trunk from an 1100GK.

My son also has his Vetter-equipped '80 GS1000G in my garage.

Mrs. Steve has sold her '82 GS850GL to a friend and acquired a Can-Am Spyder.

                      Yes.
Have had GS since 1982 (650, then 850, then/now GK).
                      And two other.

(Will admit that the GK has been neglected some in recent years.)

I currently have 5. I'll be selling the 2 850s this year, along with the DR and DRz.

My 78, bought new. Seen here at the Isle of Vashon TT. Both my wife and I are taller than average, this bike fits us well.

Due to medical issues, need for garage space, giving away my GS1100ES near Nashville (Spring Hill)… clear title, runs when easily re-assembled, extra parts. New Progressive springs & shocks, new battery, etc. Had previous post to sell, but now free. Last ran in July on a drip, since I was going to make new hoses from Hirsch-treated tank. I have taken the stator cover loose , since my last gasket was misaligned and leaking. Needs paint, is gloss black, but also have some original plastics. Nothing broken, just needs minor reassembly since I can’t work on it anymore. I had a video of it running floating around here somewhere… ask me, and I can send it. Very strong low-miles motor. Corbin seat with a rip. PM brakes. 4 into 1. Did I mention it is free? Help me reclaim some garage space and make this wonderful bike appreciated again. I don’t want to put it on FB here, and I can’t work on it, thought someone here would appreciate it more. Can reach me at accugroove@gmail.

I bought my GS850G new in 1981 and added a fairing that was moulded by a fibreglass fabricator according to a Honda design. I have always done all wrenching myself. A few years ago I bought my oldest brother's 1981 GS1000G that he had added touring items such as Vetter fairing, king/queen seat, S&W air shocks and Krauser hard luggage and top box. He had also fitted the cams from a GS1000S and I don't know if it is the extra capacity over the 850 or the effect of the cams, but the bike really pulls and runs harder than the 850 !
