Do you still own a GS?

I enjoy riding them still and making them right. I usually have one I'm refreshing and the rest of them are all rideable and insured. It's getting to be too expensive and hard to find parts though so I only am interested in refreshing complete GSs these days.
If my bikes were needy and sat in a not ready condition for more than about 6 months I would not own them.
I just got back from a few months in Europe and when I walked into the garage this morning I just felt happy looking at the bikes. I would have been happier yet if it wasnt -10 and I could have ridden at least one of them.1986 1150EF

Well.......I have a friend here in Lexington that has a small motorcycle museum. (If 300+ bikes is small!)
Google "Smyles Vintage Motorcycle Museum Lexington KY" and you may see some older videos of it! (Currently he has 8 CBX's!) He doesn't have many old Suzuki's and that just can't be!
I was planning on "loaning" it to his museum after I get it restored. He has a few guys that work for him and they will maintain a persons "loaner" bike if you request it. That way more people would be able to enjoy it and it will stay in operating condition, all without me having to maintain it!
I'm actually also thinking about loaning him the '79 GS850 that I just finished if it doesn't sell this spring.Last edited by 1978GS750E; 02-19-2026, 12:24 PM.Ron

I have 4 821100Es an 82 1000 Katana and a ton of good parts I have accumulated. I don't ride much and will be off loading some when I have time. Some day I will hear what the Bassani sounds like I picked up around 2012.Last edited by pano; 02-20-2026, 02:33 PM.1982 GS1000S Katana

Still have Suzy, my 1982 GS750T and two other bikes.

If I can ever fix her 'flatspot', she's gonna be a keeper. Superb ride, very enjoyable and always puts a smile on my face...
...As long as I don't try to go over 1/4 throttle....👍 1Comment
