Forum stalls and pauses
I'm sure some of you have seen it where it seems like the forum just hangs after you have gone a clicked on something. You're probably wondering if there was something you did. Well, I've seen it a few times myself and I don't live in the forum so I thought I would do some digging. It appears that the forum software is burping and dying once in a while with forum cache errors. This appears to be another possible database or code issue. So I have a support call into vBulletin to see if they can track it down.Tags: None -
I noticed that happening all day yesterday, but I was thinking it might be an attack-bot defence to prevent reloading fast queries.Dave

I noticed the same thing. It was the cache acting up. I now have set a couple of parameters per vBulletin's request so let's see how it goes.Comment

I tried updating the forum and the version of PHP we are running is too old. So I couldn't update things and had to roll the update back. I only have the ability to upgrade to v8.1 and vBulletin needs v8.2. I have a service call in so we'll see if they can update us.Comment

The forum has been running for over 12 hours without any caching errors which is great news. I saw that they had made some tweaks to the caching. Maybe they fixed it!👍 1Comment

I appreciate it!!! We're still not done hunting down the lockout problem though, even if it's better. I just updated the database per vBulletin's request so we'll see how that goes...👍 1Comment
