    Glad to see The GS Resources still exists.

    I was quite proud of the logo design in 1996, actually.

    I couldn't help but notice that the one article that started it all ("The Stator Papers") seems to have disappeared completely. Let me see if I can still find that.

    [EDIT] wait -- it's still here; I just searched in the wrong place. I'm going down in memory lane for some minutes.

      What I've been up to since 2000?
      Wow. Got a minute? Here's the condensed edition:

      As I communicated with Bill and I think Susan (which is kinda contrary to what the site history says, but ok), the company I worked for folded. I seem to remember that Frank was off the grid for some time, but I can't remember why. I also remember that Dan Bard was already on board, Between the four of us (Bill, Dan, Susan and yours truly) the workload was manageable, but as I was out of a job for a while and needed to concentrate on changing that, I didn't have the time to really contribute anymore.

      This triggered me to do some soul searching to figure out what I would like to do most, and three tenths of a second later, I decided to work towards putting my career in reverse to become a programmer again. Which was quite a step from being technical director (and hating it!), so I worked my way down via consultancy and product specialist, while studying object-oriented programming and design principles. Three years later, I jumped on a programming vacancy, and I enjoyed my work for the first time in 15 years.

      For reasons of me being stupid, I allowed my then-girlfriend (now wife) to veto my motorcycle riding somewhere around that time. This has, in the meantime, been remedied. After two 7 year stints with two excellent employers and two short stints with two bad ones, I'm now working for a company in Rotterdam, to which I commute three times a week on a Honda NT700 -- an unassuming, but very capable mid-size tourer with the V-twin engine from the Transalp. It's nicknamed Dullville in the UK.
      Reason for picking that bike is because it was the only mid-sized tourer with shaft drive, it would actually fit inside my garage/workshop/storage facility, and the reputation of the Transalp's engine for being indestructible.

        The NT is a 750 now and it is on my very short list of next motorcycle I would buy It seems to be the only bike 500cc and over with gas mileage that can compete with my Prius (60 mpg U.S.). I did a demo ride on one back in March. I would need some seat changes; I have been spoiled by the broad, flat seat on my GS850s.

        I assume yours is a DCT model?

          No, the NT700 is a completely different bike from the pre-DCT era. 680CC V twin engine, large three quarter fairing (belly pan added by yours truly) with large adjustable screen, integrated luggage a la PC800, shaft drive, and a broad seat. With 65bhp against 232 kilos, not particularly fast. In England, they (and its 650cc predecessor) were sold to dispatch riders as fast as Honda could make them.

            I know that DCT stands for double clutch transmission. Do ANY dct bikes have a clutch lever?

            But they have shift pedals (or other mechanisms)? It's similar to 'paddle' shifters in cars?

              I would think not. I have a car with DTC, and there's no clutch pedal.

                Ah, yes. I remember those. What is the tank capacity and approximate highway mpg? It looks like it could be a serious mile eater. .

                  Ooh, I missed this one.
                  Tank capacity is 19.7 litres. Ive done 55 MPG on it since March, according to Spritmonitor.de (Benzinverbrauch: Honda - Deauville - NT700VA - Spritmonitor.de)
