    Medicare Advantage Plans ???

Wondering if there's any, non insurance selling folks, I can talk to about Medicare Supplement Plans vs Advantage Plans and plans that should best fit my needs? I DO NOT want to talk to the folks calling me 15 times pr. day on my phone, trying to sell me Advantage plans, nor want to talk to anyone selling the plans. Hoping for somebody to maybe look out for "ME" instead of the ins. co.

You ain't alone. I don't need it yet as I am still working but there are a couple of Insurance agencies here who specialize in Medical plans. I am not sold on "advantage" plans as they amount to a HMO and limit choices on Doctors and facilities. I plan to start looking 3 months or so before retirement.

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

Yes there are. They're called Elder Care Attorneys. If you have any relatives who are lawyers, you should be able to get some free, general advice.

We see those commercials constantly, as we get a lot of US TV stations readily. One of the frequent advertisers is United Healthcare.

Screwing insured people is an effort and cost insurers are quite willing to bear if they think they can avoid payouts that might be more costly. ...and there is zero interest in how it affects the insured.
Earlier this week I read this example of United Healthcare working VERY VERY hard to screw a subscriber

After a college student finally found a treatment that worked, the insurance giant decided it wouldn’t pay for the costly drugs. His fight to get coverage exposed the insurer’s hidden procedures for rejecting claims.

HHmmm, no good answers. Don't know, or really want to hire an attorney... Not too comfortable talking to ins. salesmen. Couple of yrs. ago, I attended a free Medicare supplement ins. meeting, sponsored by ins. co., really pushing the new Advantage Plans.... Really confused when they got finished. The "Main" thing I remember from that meeting is if I changed from what I had to an Advantage plan, I could never switch back. Why would that part be in there?, unless they knew I probably wouldn't be satisfied with the Advantage plan, and they wanted to have me locked in to works best for them instead of letting me go back to what works best for me.. Gosh I wish life didn't have so many decisions... Like his link shows, Ins. Co.'s are there for their benefit, not the customers.

On my second year of Medicare. Standard Part A & B, with a Humana prescription plan.
The only issue is dental and eye care, which you don't get with Medicare, (although we should).
My wife still works, so I get my eye and dental through her insurance, for now. Once she retires though, not sure.

Bob, that's where I'm at. Wife has retired but we will stay on her ex-employers medical, dental, etc. till she's 65. Also there's a place, somewhere on computer, where you can put in your prescriptions, and it will show you the best drug plan for your needs. Lady at my past employer had it and Cigna turned out best for me... Guess I should check it again, that was 3 yrs. ago.

You will get dental and eye care with the right Humans Advantage plan. Some benefits are state specific. You can also get up to 3k plus for over the counter things and food if you qualify. Most recipients will get about 100 bucks per quarter. Many docs and specialists have small or zero co pays. Use their pharmacy provider for zero co pay meds. Some require pre authorization. Couple Good RX for meds not covered. You ll realize significant savings.
