Android/Chrome help

So, yesterday, while browsing on my phone, the text disappeared on every website I looked at. Pictures and graphics show up, but no text.
I rebooted it and the text reappeared for about 30 minutes
Then, it went away again.
My computer savvy son looked into it, cleared the cache, deleted Chrome and reloaded it. Again, it worked for an hour or so, then the text disappeared.
I went on the PC and searched for solutions. Most of what I found referred to font, which I don't think is the issue. I did find a number of solutions- to clear the cache and reload Chrome
I scanned the phone several times for malware and nothing was found.
Discouraged, I put it on the charger overnight and went to bed.
This morning, it worked fine until about 3 PM, then the text disappeared again

Anyone familiar with this issue?
Any suggestions? Switching to Iphone is not an option

Very strange. My best guess is that the text is going to the same color as the background but that is only a guess. Were I to have the problem I would install a different browser, Firefox is a good choice, and see if the problem persists. That will tell you whether it is a browser issue (I suspect not) or a phone issue.

I am going to move this thread into Campfire where it will be seen by a much wider audience. There is no need for it to be in Vortex.

is the chrome install clean without extensions or any addons?
try an alternate browser
try to isolate the issue being related to a given website
Not sure if android chrome has a compatibility setting or not but a recent upgrade of the app may not play well with some of your usual websites.
are you logged in to Google in chrome?

I'll see how long that lasts

Nope, only 22%, of space used

AH, maybe one of the few instances where I am part of a "wider audiance". har har
(unless refering to my waist size of recent decade....)

But, either way, I cant help with the "dissapearing text" situation.

ALthough, now that think of it more, I do notice something similar, on phone (refirb iphone8) if loose wifi signal, or at least I think that is when it happens.
Maybe not related to your situation, but always glad to share my ignorance.

On day 2 of normal performance
