    Mustard

Is this a condiment you'd expect in every restaurant?

I've been eating pescado hamburguesas (Dorado/Mahi Mahi a lot this past month, south of the border, near the "Gulf of Mexico" on the Pacific side... haha!

    One our new enemies!

Roughly $6 US for a fresh fish burger with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, avocados & homemade fries.

Tonight, the slightly upper scale restaurant with not such good food said they didn't have mustard?

All the other authentic mexican places I visited had it, but sometimes I had to ask for it & then they provided it.

This place has an amazing view of the ocean 6 stories up, but they didn't have mustard, so I mixed green habanero sauce in ketsup which I don't really care for.

    Any thoughts?

Whenever I order a burger and fries I always ask for a side of Mayo and a side of Dijon to dip my fries in ..... Never had any trouble getting it, but I really never have ordered it in a Mexican restaurant so I wouldn't know .....

My choice would be a Keen's Hot with Montreal smoked meat or a Reuben.

Old memories, Kosciusko mustard MUGS... I remember when visiting my grandparents in NY, in the early "60's" they had this strange mustard that came in a big glass mug or stein... Loved that stuff, maybe just cause we didn't have it in TN. and the mug was so strange to me. Always brought some back to TN. with me.. It's still around but wondering how long since it came in those glass mugs... Also remember from up there, "Charles's Chips, they came in tin cans or buckets and if I remember right were delivered to my grandparents house in a Charles's Chip truck.

Those New York weirdos! I'm gonna go ahead and say if you've still got some of that 1960's mustard, just toss it. It doesn't keep that well.

Charle's Chips were great! Big metal can you passed around the living room. Delivered right up to our 6th floor apartment by a man in an official uniform. Pretzels too!

                      It's a long time ago but I remember being in a bar in New York that was apparently well known for their mustard .... I tasted it but I can't really remember the details. But I believe the bar was quite well known ..... McSorleys { not sure of the spelling }

Your spelling is quite correct. Officially, it's McSorley's Old Ale House. It's on East 7th Street and it's still open. A New York landmark!

I went there back in 1989 while judging snowboard halfpipe competitions.
Stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel too.

Hunter Mtn. at the time boasted the most snowmaking in North America, kinda funny coming from Mt. Baker.

It was like downtown New York on the slopes-everybody zigzagging around-total kaos. "Hey Joey...do a twistaa"

Well, they only had the nasty French's mustard (excessivo sodio) at most of the restaurants I visited in MX, with crusty hardened mustard on the cap.

I had to Google it { because I'm so damn old I can't remember the details } but McSorley's makes their own mustard ..... It is very spicy and they use ale instead of water in their recipe ......
