    Huge Nascar question

Starting at the coke 600 race at Charlotte, for the next 5 races, Nascar is putting the races on pay for view (Amazon Prime). Previously all the races are replayed later the same day, and possibly the next day. Wondering if these 5 races will be replayed later, and not on pay for view? I've been punching all over this computer, but not finding anything about it.

    NASCAR instructions:

    1. Turn left
    2. Turn left
    3. Turn left
    4. Turn left
    5. Repeat
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I’ve tried, at several points in my life, to care about NASCAR. When I was a kid, Dad was something of a Ford guy, followed Bill Elliot. Dad owned a few: a 58 I only saw in pics, an early 80s Pinto(only car that ever made me car sick, think it had something to do with the color of the interior), a mid 80s Country Squire wagon, an ‘86 T-Bird (that was a fun car to drive), an 86 F150. But I never could get exited about stock car racing. Even when I moved back to central PA in 2002, most friends and acquaintances had a favorite driver. Meh, I’d rather ride my motorcycle or even do yard work on my Sundays.

I am guessing there are a lot of PO'd NASCAR fans who refused to subscribe to Prime to watch. I have Prime but didn't watch the race but saw this morning that the guy who started the race in last (40th) place won the race. It appears a lot of racing happened............

2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

No doubt Nascar is fizzling out. Lots of ideas what's happened, but my opinion Nascar changing things is the total cause. Many may not know but today there are no cars on the track that is shaped like a Ford, Chevy, nor Toyota, the cars are a generic designed car that doesn't look like any auto, they are all shaped the same, and only the paint jobs determine the difference in the Ford, Chevy, and Toyotas... Wondering if Nascar thinks putting Cup races on Pay for View will is going to help their fan base? I dun'no, after 5 weeks of not be'in able to watch the races I'll probably lose a little interest myself

Well this past Sunday was a racing extravaganza...Moto GP first thing in the morning. Than the Monaco F1 race. After that the Indy 500.

Didn't watch the NASCAR race after all that. I really only watch them on the road courses these days, (and I do have Prime).

You forgot the "Dramatic Spin and run along the infield for a bit" section and the "touch the wall" and "rub another car" instructions. Got to get some excitement in there somewhere! (F1 Monaco is just as bad - Instructions 1. Follow car in front 2. The end..)

Well this year was better than last year. And Norris won, which is great. Next year the cars get smaller, so it may help.

Yes, Norris winning was good. It may help when the cars get smaller but I don't think so. The smaller formulas had no better luck than F1 really and they are a lot smaller & slower than F1 cars will be in 2026.

Verstappen said in his post race that he thinks an F1 car could "just about" overtake an F2 car round there with current regs.

For Monaco to be exciting you need lots of "other" stuff. Rain, lots of crashes, cars breaking down etc.

I've actually driven most of that circuit when the boards were up (you can't drive it all as a lap because of the One way stuff) and it's pretty tight even for a small european car.... (It was a right old banger when I was at college down there - an "Austin Maestro" from about 1982! We paid to park it right out the front of the Casino just so we could get a beer and people watch as they tried to work out what that piece of poop was doing next to the porsche, ferrari, rolls & Maybach that were also there that day! )

For some odd reason I've never been able to find any interest in open wheel racing. I did go to the one they had over at the Nashville Superspeedway and sat there bored stiff through the whole thing. Also watched nearly half of the one they ran through the streets of Nashville, also boring. For yrs. Nascar ran 2 road course races pr. yr., that was 2 too many. Now they've upped it to 5 or 6 pr. yr., that makes 5 or 6 too many... Go figure, not sure if possibly some folks like the road courses or possibly Nascar just trying to push a few more fans away.

I like pretty much any kind of racing. I'll watch whatever is on, drag racing, ovals, road courses, land speed racing, motorcycles, cars, speed boats, sail boats, etc.

My wife and I watched NASCAR for years. Never missed it. But things change.
My favorite racing now is on road courses. Turning both ways makes it more interesting.
And drag racing is a favorite, only because I did that for many years.

But I prefer a race to start and end, which is my problem with NASCAR - Stages.

Yes, the stages, the new point system that nobody has a clue how to keep up with, the Play off system, the "one lug nut" thing that has been causing problems ever since they started it, that no Ford, Chevy, nor Toyota has are all things that lead away from what Nascar roots have always been. No surprise there are so many empty seats these days.

NASCAR is doing what the NFL started a few years back, that being they're an entertainment commodity that can be sold to the highest bidder. With broadcast TV going the way of print media they simply don't have the resources to compete against streaming services, plain and simple.

We see racing and professional sports as more than just entertainment since a part of us becomes emotionally vested in the outcomes. It's about more than money to many of us, we where sold a bill of goods and up until now we've gladly paid. There's a good amount of the "ignorance is bliss" aspect at play here and when it comes to The Detroit Lions I'll be the happy idiot for several Sunday afternoons. As long as I can afford to anyhow.
