    Foods that you cannot eat?

I thought this article puzzling, as it does not explain

Why is so much of this is happening,"

    and

Why does it seem to be happening only to the youngest adult generation?

What has changed in the environment that has caused so much concern?

Gummies and super-sweet things I eat only occasionally, but they do not cause me any problems.
    .
I pose these questions because I have been around longer than this latest group and not a single thing listed affects me negatively.

We've all got stories, guess I'm pretty lucky... I quit sweets when I was 15 due to diabetes. I quit alcohol when I was appx. 25 cause I never liked the taste and finally realized I didn't need to drink just cause all my buddies did. I quit coffee after dinner (noon to you that don't know when the dinner bell rings) because it got to keeping me awake at night. Other than that all is good, eat and enjoy all the things I've always enjoyed... Had never thought of this being a thing till I read this link.

I can't eat broccoli and am lactose intolerant (which means that I struggle, because I refuse to stop eating cheese and simply have to cut down on it).

Pilot, the can't eat broccoli... allergy?, messes up belly?, just don't like the taste? I tried to eat some once but the taste was so nasty I couldn't keep it in my mouth, quickly ran to garbage and spit it out... lots of stuff I can't eat due to taste, but medically nothing.

IMHO, this is more about access and over-share than it is a significant change.

I know LOTS of boomers in their 60s and 70s that have had digestive issues with certain foods for their entire adult lives.

At 54 and fat with a relatively low quality diet, I have no food issues beyond less tolerance for sugar as I get older. Refined sugar in typical dessert quantities results in a near immediate 15-30 minute involuntary coma.

For the last 30 years, we've had an information distribution system where anyone can get any news about anything - whether they want it or not. It's the same reason everybody thinks crime is worse than ever because they hear about it more from news and social media than pre-Internet - when the reality is crime rates are dramatically lower than they were 30 years ago.

Federal statistics show dramatic declines in U.S. violent and property crime rates since the early 1990s.

Is there likely an increase due to the pervasive consumption of ultra-processed foods, increased obesity rates, etc.? Sure.

Is it more about an article that gets clicks and generates ad revenue? Oh yeah. Big time.

I do not really know what to think, as I can only relate to my own life . I hated liver as a child and still do not eat it, but other than that I have never had a problem with any food.

                    EDIT...

I cannot eat Indian sweets....they seem to have found some way to make them ten times sweeter than uncut sugar .syrup and just a taste of them almost makes me throw up

                    Absolutely horrible!

Tons of things I can't eat just from, in my opinion, the horrible taste and all the same stuff I couldn't eat as a kid... Always told as a kid, you'll learn tolike it or you'll grow into eating it but for me nothing has changed, things I didn't like back then still don't like, stuff I ate back then, still eating it. The Liver is one of a very few things I don't like, but it's not bad enough, I can eat it... Could eat a pound of the onions that get cooked in with the Liver right now and am not hungry, dang they're great cooked with liver, and mama could do it better than anybody else...

Funny you say that. I never tried a cuisine I did not like until I tried Indian. Many attempts, does not suit my tastes at all.

One of my favorite quotes. (I can eat things that would make a Billy Goat puke)

                          But on a serious note.

Pharmaceuticals with side effects that are sometimes as bad as what they fix not being filterd out in waste water treatment, outher pollutants and biohazderous treatments being sprayed on our crops, pharmaceuticals being used in the livestock we consume.
A population that has been exposed to these varying factors from conception on as opposed to us older peoples many of whome spent our earliest years eating fresh grown in America foods.

I am not a scientist so that would be a uneducated guess.
