    The reign of terror continues...........

Some of you will recall the guy I posted about a couple or three months ago who lead local Police on a chase through town riding a Mule. It appears he is out and up to more anti social behavior....

On 6/6/2025 around 9:18 PM, the Murray Police Department received a call that an individual had intentionally released a raccoon into an open business, and that this person had left the scene. Officers soon located this individual while he was operating his vehicle, and they conducted a traffic stop on him. The individual, later identified as Jonathan Mason (40) of Murray, KY, refused to roll down his windows or exit the vehicle. As a result, officers had to remove Mr. Mason from his vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was learned that the raccoon that Mr. Mason released into the business bit a person, and that Mr. Mason had already been warned that he was not allowed on the property of that business. Mr. Mason was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense; he was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
The Murray Police Department would like to remind everyone that any person charged with a criminal offense is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If you have any information on this or any other crimes and would like to leave an anonymous tip, you can contact the Murray Calloway County Crime Stoppers at 270-753-9500.

I suspect he only gets crazy when drinking, he gets arrested and sobers up in jail. Once released he gets back on the bottle and the cycle continues. I am concerned that sooner than later his actions will trigger a LEO to take action that results in injury or death. The person bit by the Raccoon will likely have to undergo the shot protocol for Rabies which I hear is very unpleasant.

He sounds a bit like the green keeper in Caddyshack.

                To keep the record straight:

Ernest T. Bass is a loud, wild, and rowdy hillbilly with a scruffy, unkempt appearance, a maniacal laugh, and a penchant for troublemaking. He nearly always behaves in an immature childish manner and is often rude and belligerent. His appearance within the otherwise sedate town of Mayberry is a sign that trouble will soon be coming for Sheriff Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife. Once in a while, he appears in town with his trademark greeting, "Howdy-do to you and you. It's me, it's me, it's Ernest T.!"[3]: 105

Ernest T. frequently vandalizes people's property by hurling rocks through glass windows — an act which he himself takes a great deal of personal pride in, calling himself "the best rock thrower in the county."[3]: 104  He is notoriously importunate with the women he desires, and regularly uses this tactic to get their attention. He also tries to impress people by informing them that he is saving up for a gold tooth. He once boasted that he had lifted a mule onto his shoulders and "tote' her five miles to the doctor," an impressive feat of strength (if true). When threatened with the law, he is adept at eluding Sheriff Taylor and Deputy Fife, taunting them with his famous catchphrase, "You ain't seen the las' of Ernest T. Bass!"[3]: 105  His general behavior is summed up succinctly (and repeatedly) by Barney: "He's a nut!"

Don't you be bad-mouthing my cousin Ernie!

Ernest T (Howard Morris) also played George, the TV repairman, in the episode where Barney took over for a day so Helen and Andy could goon a peaceful, quiet. private, picnic at the lake. Barney kept disturbing the picnic, once bringing George the TV repairman, with him and telling Helen she forgot to give him the key to let the repairman in, she responded George knows it's under the mat where it always is.... Amazing all the pertinent stuff I know, ain't it???
