    Watch out for lithium batteries!

overcharging is not to be taken lightly.

A Kenosha County father says a lithium-ion battery destroyed the dream home he built for his family. He’s urging others to take this simple safety step.

A guy on KZ Rider burned down his workshop, after leaving some LI batteries charging unattended. We all do this, but I've taken to unplugging things at night.

I had an issue with one a couple of times ..... I keep my tablet in a stand on my coffee table and it is always plugged in ..... One day I am watching TV and I hear a loud crack . The screen on the tablet was cracked and bowed out towards me ..... It had an internal explosion which caused the battery to rapidly expand .... Fortunately it was contained within itself .....This happened with two tablets.... I was told it was likely a result of them always being plugged in charging ...... My newest tablet has a feature that says ..... " Hey a$$hole. You've got me on charge all the time. So until you get your head out of your a$$ I'm going to cut charging off at 70% " .... So far it hasn't exploded ..,...

Hasn't the technology been around for a long long time for chargers to turn off when batt. gets fully charged? Though I've not found a trickle charger or battery tender that completely stops.
