Why America Has So Few doctors

    The Atlantic
    Published Feb 14, 2022

This article was published in 2022 and its story begins in 2002. It has noting to do with the current political climate. It describes a medical system that has been growing ever more restrictive for more than a quarter-century. Today, it is even worse as there are many, many, people without access to family doctors in USA. This also applies to Canada.

In posting this I do so with the hope that those members who, because of their personal political bent, habitually demand that important information be pushed away from those who need to see it, will open their minds and keep their partisan politics off the screen..

I do not claim to have a perfect solution but in this subject I see a NEED for open and broad discussion for the understanding and benefit of all Americans (and Canadians) because more restrictive and increasingly more expensive education, coupled with monstrous debt loads, quite obviously means less general medical care availability across the country.

I know one reason .... Premier Eby is cutting red tape for U.S. doctors and nurses to emigrate to B.C. ....... { That California dude will be along shortly to bitch about this being in the Campfire } .......
B.C. Premier David Eby provided an update on recruiting United States-trained nurses, doctors, and other allied health professionals Monday.

Earlier this summer I needed a referral from a primary care doctor to get my worn out knee looked over for a problem that still to this day persists. Ended up at a clinic in Athens, OH about four days after contacting them, they got me in quick since at that time I was fearful that I may have broken it. Anyhow, was in for X-rays directly after seeing a Physicians Assistant who had ordered a TON of blood work done due to my past history with cancer. She was able to do everything I would require a doctor to do in that circumstance, routine stuff.

Some would say that these days medical doctors are closer to very highly trained technicians as opposed to those practicing the healing arts, we're probably at the point where the level of training required to oversee a crew of PA's is closer to what's actually needed.

I identify as a man but according to the label on a box of Stauffers Baked Lasagne I'm actually a family of four
