If that's your cup of tea, you might wish you had accompanied me to the Clash at Times Square in 1981. I arrived late and missed opening act (Dead Kennedys). Only song I remember was their encore, London Calling.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red
2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I got to meet Julian Bream and listened to him play for just a few of us in the tiny audience..

How about major moments in every American's life?
On August 8th, 1974 I saw CSN&Y at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. Most of you know how political that band was ("Chicago", "Ohio"). Some of you remember the news story of the day, which had global significance.
When they came back from intermission and announced the news, the crowd went crazy.
PS - Walking to my car afterward, I remember spotting it - a yellow 1968 Camaro with black vinyl roof. Then I thought, "That's not my car. My car doesn't have a smashed passenger side window."Last edited by Rob S.; 09-06-2025, 03:48 PM.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

Just got home from L.A., where I attended the Oasis show on Saturday. Sold out two nights in a row, 89,000 people each night. The energy was amazing, the band was in peak form, the music magical."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Kiss! It was my first concert at 13 years old. 1978 Providence Civic Center. A couple days later I spent days shoveling out my house on Narraganset Bay while wearing a full face motorcycle helmet!
Following this concert, I remember going to Sears in the middle of the night to wait in line for tickets. Good times......

Robin Trower for me.
I was 19yo living in Louisiana. We saw Robin Trower in a small backwoods club...
I've been to concerts sitting a million miles away. I've seen some garage bands and was impressed watching the guitarist.
But watching a true master of the guitar up close really blew me away!My Motorcycles:
22 Kawasaki Z900 RS (Candy Tone Blue)
22 BMW K1600GT (Probably been to a town near you)
82 1100e Drag Bike (needs race engine)
81 1100e Street Bike (with race engine)
79 1000e (all original)
82 850g (all original)
80 KZ 650F (needs restored)

I got you all beat. The first 2 concerts I can remember were as a very young kid, my mom took me to see Liberace (maybe 1975) and Sha-Na-Na (maybe 1978?) at the Hersheypark Arena. I can't really say that they marked major moments in my life. But it was the first times ever seeing famous people in person that I had only ever seen on TV.Last edited by Rich82GS750TZ; Today, 03:27 PM.Links
