Interesting bikes at the Handbuilt Show in San Pedro

Went to the show in San Pedro today with my son. It was hipster central. These Japanese bikes were hilarious, the red one's a 79 GS750.

Lots of art in those, disturbing results, though.

Day-glo Mad Max on acid. I asked about the horns at the back; they were for gangs of riders to annoy the government workers who wanted to ban them. They would swarm the houses of the bureaucrats at 3AM and let it rip.

I forget what it's called, but I believe that's the style of Japanese teens who like to gun their engines, many of them 2 strokes, as high as they will rev, while parked in neutral. They call it 'music,' but it's just kids with too much time and money.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.
