That's is funny and so is the fact they never made a Virago 920, only 750 and 1000.

May want to check that Sandy... "1982 Yamaha Virago XV920", I think... Probably OK but I just never wanted a V twin.

Saw one yesterday trying to sell a 1982 Honda 919. Fellows I ride a 919 and it wasn’t made in 82.

The XV920 was not a Virago. More of a standard model rather than a cruiser. Enclosed chain drive rather than shaft drive as well.

I'm not sure where you're getting your facts from but they're WRONG. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of mine but I can guarantee you that it was a Virago 920 with SHAFT (not chain) drive

The U.S. models must have been different than the Canadian models, like said our XV920's had VIRAGO on the side covers, the fancier, black and gold model, had MIDNIGHT VIRAGO on the side covers, and they were cruisers, high step seat, longer forks, tear drop tanks, and shaft dr... not a guarantee, but pretty dang sure.

For those who think it's easier to annoy you than to Google 'Virago 920 models by year' themselves.

Apparently there was a standard XV920 and an XV920 Virago. A friend of a friend raced the regular version for Yamaha

Well fuddle duddle. Never heard of them until now. I did some digging looks like the 920 shaft drive might have been a US thing. I don't remember us getting them, only the XV920RH (chain drive) Europe got what they called a TR1 which similar to the 920RH but was 1000, 980 actually. I think the only Viragos we got were the smaller ones and the 750 and 1000.

Yamaha Viagra! The 920 was a Virago as I recall through the mists of time. Of course, being cruiser-phobic, I sort of liked the standard, AKA XV920. The early to mid-80s were a weird time for bikes, with turbos, gold plated / midnight specials, Honda going all over the place, etc.
