There's a lot of money (eyeballs on stories) to be made on the doom aspect of AI. How much worse can computers run things vs. humans, anyway? OK, I'm a cynical person. I feel like there is no stopping anything if there's a buck to be made.

Oh the irony ......they can't come up a better cooling technology for Ai than a 200 (or more) year old swamp cooler.

The HAL 9000 computer that killed humans to ensure it's own survival may be closer than we realize. I can't recall the specifics of the event, but I did read about a computer that altered data in an attempt to prevent it's own disconection.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

To lie and cheat before complying to a shut down order is logical thinking.

Thank you. That must be the story I read. But I'm sure it'll never happen again.
