    Hard to believe

11 year old girl killed by hit and run school bus today. Eye witness (a NY State Senator) said he thinks the driver was aware of what he did.

That is a tough one. I saw that a glare hit the windshield of the bus as he made his turn, and the girl practically ran in front of the bus; but he took off, and now he's done for.

Rob, one of these days I’m going to teach you how to copy and paste a link.

Very sad and devastating. I don't know why snub nose school buses aren't mandatory in all school districts. Our district gradually replaced all long nose buses with snub nose buses something like 40 years ago. Those convex mirrors help but objects in them are tiny and you just can't see anyone in them very well, especially if someone enters the blind spot after you just checked the mirror. Not trying to take responsibility away from the driver, he is the master of his ship, but sometimes simple measures can make things much safer.
