    Country Joe

    RIP Country Joe McDonald.

Thank goodness his historic appearance at Woodstock was well-documented on film and audio.

Weird, just a couple days ago I was listening to a song and the band's name was Shannon and the Clams (great name!). I thought of Country Joe and the Fish. RIP.

He played a lot in Vancouver . Including at the first " Easter Be In " in 1967 . I saw him a few times at the S.F.U. Pub .... I never did know why he had such a strong connection with Vancouver . I would be curious to know .... Rest in peace Joe ..... " Come out :Lyndon with your hands held high. Drop your guns baby and reach for the sky. Got you surrounded and you ain't got a chance. Gonna send you back to Texas make you work on your ranch . " .... I'm old but I can still remember some Fish lyrics ......
