I maintain that it is a slippery slope. If the government were to determine that alcohol was similarly hazardous and then to ban it in perpetuity for citizens born after 2009, despite the real fact of declining alcohol consumption among that very age segment, I would take the side of the citizen over the government were someone born in 2010 to decide to drink in 2028.

We don't need a ban. All that we need to do is raise the age for purchase or possession. 65 seems to be a reasonable legal age.
