Love to see young people performing real music, mastering their instruments.
My wife (MS Art Teacher) has this former student, now a 15 yr. old HS Sophomore who, when the MS Music Teacher took as far as she could, realized her phenomenal vocal abilities exceeded her teaching, got the kid involved in the Williamsport Uptown Music Collective. You can read more about it here.
Our non profit music school offers lessons, classes, and workshops for all ages! Our Mission is to provide exceptional music education & performance opportunities.
It's a very unique after school program for area HS students to collaborate and explore may different music genres. The video I took below is from last Friday night's performance.
This was the finale of a 3 hour set. All night long. 25 or so kids took part playing many various instruments and parts/costume changes, usually with only about 10 seconds between songs. It was very impressive. This one raised the roof. Put the headphones on and Enjoy.
We've seen her perform many times over the last several years. Been fun to watch her voice and performances mature.Last edited by Rich82GS750TZ; Yesterday, 01:12 PM. -
Here's a group of young folks from my former home town, Traverse City, Mi that my daughter knew and went to public school with for a year. The orchestra teacher there is a top notch lady and inspired a lot of great musicians, including my daughter who ended up tutoring the bass player of this group while she was a senior at the public school and my daughter who was a senior at the music academy at that same time. That teacher killed two birds with one stone there, a future performer and a future teacher!

Here's another Traverse City product, Don did one hell of a job mentoring this kid musically and helping him get his act cleaned up to become one of his biggest names in bluegrass today!
And another

And yet another young musician at the top of his game, in this case it's an 18 year old drummer backing up an acoustic version of King Crimson's title release of Discipline with both guitar parts and the bass being handled by another player (multi track recorded). The drummer is reading from sheets as he's playing, damn impressive stuff from both musicians!
