      A photo came to mind as soon as I saw the "End Of THe Road" theme.
      But then I see Rich's pic is a lot like the pic I had in mind.

      So... look for another....

      THis is the end of the road for several minutes anyway.



      Why have a draw bridge on a state highway? (more specifically: "bascule" bridge).
      Well, original design, (late 1950s) it wasnt.
      But during construction then they found the "bedrock" was a lot lower than was used in the original design. ANd then they found was easier to have the bridge lower & convert the design to a bascule bridge, than it was to have taller bridge support structure produced.

      ANd now, there isnt any commercial shipping on the river there anymore, so when the bridge opens (which during summer is often), its for personal sail boats. So all the people getting stopped on the state highway knows it is for some person in thier pleasure craft.

                      GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

                        I've seen water covered rds., stair steps, draw bridges, graveyards, Rd. signs, but never seen a starter gear that has totally reached the end of it's road.. Voting Carter Turk, this week.... No Rob, Elmer's, Gorilla, nor any Epoxy is Gon'na fix that thing.
