I did use a DSLR with a couple of lenses for a few years but because of it's size it spent too much time at home. Otherwise I shoot with what you could call an advanced point and shoot. This is an older photo that was taken with my first digital camera, an Olympus C750 UltraZoom, and it took amazing sharp photos. I went with a Pentax DLSR system for several years and the last 2 years have been using a Panasonic ZS50. The trick I find with point and shoots, for me anyway, is to take the thing off Auto and shoot in Aperture priority in around the middle of it's range, pay attention to your shutter speed and adjust the ISO as required so the shutter speed doesn't drop below 1/100 sec. The Panasonic will shoot raw files which I do as JPGs soften the pictures somewhat and then do some minor tweaking for colour and sharpness in Adobe Lightroom.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) -

I'm going to Vote for Rogers today. It's a great shot of a cool field! Really take in your landscape... Love the mountains as the back drop. My only comment is your a touch too heavy on contrast, other than that great shot.
I would vote for mine for I honestly like it the best but I don't vote for myself... I like the B&W filter and the play with the light...
Somethings to note that I tuned into that shy'd me away from my honorable mentions. (Inside the snobbery of the Jedz brain)
-Charlie's is Gorgeous and it would have my vote hands down BUT it's contaminated by an extremity on the upper right corner... Love the mountain view but I get distracted by the blurb and I end up thinking about what is causing the blurb... Totally taking away from the picture...
-Sandy's is another spectacular shot the most vast field shot for sure. The filter setting on the picture are too sharp and is making the GS seem too pixelated... A softer filter and it would have been perfect.
-Trevor's well this would have been perfect if it was in higher rez... Also the filtration and contrast is off on this one as well. It was well done and I can almost smell that morning dew... Great shot, great view but the shot made jones for more detail.
Great job this week guys!Last edited by Jedz123; 05-04-2018, 07:34 AM.Comment
