Here's how I reconstruct the events:
rich correctly reported the count, a three-way tie between baat and gus and dork
but then rich invited baat to vote, and I'm assuming rich didn't register that baat had already voted
and baat gave the win to gus
meaning that dork was dissed (unintentionally, I'm sure)
and the folks who voted for baat and dork were disenfranchised (again, unintentionally, I'm sure) (disenfranchised: rphil and kfunk and rich and murd)
At this moment, the next theme is in gus's hands,
and I'd say if dork wants to grab the trophy while gus is occupied, so be it.
