I had a good time driving dad to Columbus to visit my brothers last weekend. At 94 he's doing pretty good. He doesn't have the energy that he use to have, but his mind is sharp as a tack. He told me about most all the cars he had. From his first car 1932 Ford. He told me about when he put a $50 deposit on a new fancy car with overdrive and all the bells and whistles. He came home to tell his dad. His dad made him go back and cancel the order and get his money back.
Maybe that is why he never interfered with our questionable automotive purchases?
He was a plumber, my brother is a plumber, my nephew is a plumber. We went over to the house my nephew is building. Dad gave the plumbing his stamp of approval. It was fun watching the three of them taking and explaining why certain things were done a certain way.
It was good spending some quality time with dad. He wants to go back down to Columbus in July. I told him sounds good to me, maybe we can take my motorcycle!... No he likes his Lincoln Town Car and I like driving it!
