Thanks for the kudos guys. Living next to the rockies makes taking great pictures easy when the weather cooperates. Love the little 12/32, especially when all I want to do is slide the camera in my coat pocket when traveling light.

Rain was moving in today so I took the van over to the Elk and Bison Prarie at the Land Between the Lakes. Got a few pics before the rain arrived.

Scott, that's so cool. Do the Bison ever get excitable enough to present a hazard to people?

Yes they do, there are signs all over saying to stay inside your vehicle if the Elk or Bison are within 200 feet. They are usually pretty mellow except calving season. It is never advisable to get between any Mama and her child no matter the species........

Pretty well the same advice here for hiking in Grasslands National Park. The bison are free range, they can run 35mph and there are no trees to climb. The rule is that if any part of a bison side view extends beyond the width of a thumb, with arm at full extension, you should back off slowly.

Yesterday morning, a little windy, 36 degF, some waves spashing, gates were open but I didnt go too far out.

Yesterday, early afternoon. 38degF, 30-35mph winds, 10ft waves. Gates are open, but I didnt get close at all.

(The gates I mention are part of the blue railing on the left, the other half is obscuerd on the right side behind that big green sign.)

                              THis morning, calm, but 18degF.
All ice. Put on my boot chains.
